Does Article 50 apply to your website?

Answer six questions and see which of the four Article 50 duties of the EU AI Act are likely yours. It takes a minute, needs no email, and nothing you click leaves your browser.

1. Do people from the EU visit your site?
2. Is there a chatbot or AI assistant on the site?
3. Do you publish images, video or audio made with AI?
4. Do you publish AI-written texts on news, health, finance, politics or other public topics?
5. Does a human editor review those texts and take responsibility for them?
6. Do you use emotion recognition or biometric categorisation?

What the result means

Applies means you should act on it: add labels or a notice. Your call means the rules leave room, often because the duty sits mainly with the AI provider; a visible notice is still a cheap, kind step. Not yours means the duty belongs to the company that builds the AI tool.

This check explains the rules in general terms. It is not legal advice and does not tell you whether your business complies with the law. For your exact case, talk to a lawyer. Start with the plain-English guide to Article 50.
