Terms of service
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the website authorlabel.com and to the AuthorLabel software, including AuthorLabel Pro, provided by Stocked Labs (“we”, “us”). By using the website or the software, or by buying a license, you agree to these terms. If you buy on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may accept them for it.
2. The software and its license
AuthorLabel and AuthorLabel Pro are licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL). The GPL governs your rights to use, copy and change the code.
A paid Pro license gives you, for the term of your plan, access to Pro updates, the Pro features that rely on our services, and support, for the number of sites included in your plan. The number of sites is counted by active license activations.
3. Not legal advice
AuthorLabel is a software tool. It helps you add labels and notices and keep a record of what you did. It does not provide legal advice and does not guarantee that your website complies with the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) or any other law. Guides, documentation and support answers explain public information in general terms. You decide how to label your content and you remain responsible for your website and its compliance. For advice on your specific situation, consult a qualified lawyer.
4. Purchases, renewals and prices
Pro licenses are sold by Freemius, Inc., our reseller and merchant of record. Freemius handles payment, invoices and sales tax or VAT, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
Plans are billed yearly and renew automatically at the end of each term, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We send a reminder by email before renewal. You can cancel renewal at any time in your account; the license stays active until the end of the paid term.
Prices are shown in US dollars and may change for future terms. A price change never applies to a term you have already paid for.
5. Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a purchase or renewal. Details are in our refund policy. This does not limit any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
6. When a license ends
If your license expires or is refunded, Pro updates, Pro features and Pro support stop. Labels you already added and the free plugin keep working. Your content is never locked.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the website or our services, for example by trying to break their security, overload them, share license keys beyond your plan, or use them for unlawful purposes. We may suspend a license that is clearly misused, after telling you why where possible.
8. Warranty disclaimer
To the extent allowed by law, the software and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work to keep the software reliable and up to date, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or that it will meet every legal requirement that applies to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as lost profits, lost data, fines or penalties imposed on you, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim related to the software or the website is limited to the amount you paid us for the license in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply to new purchases and renewals from the date they are published.
