Privacy policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. Who is responsible
This website (authorlabel.com) and the AuthorLabel software are provided by Stocked Labs (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
2. The AuthorLabel plugin on your website
The free AuthorLabel plugin does not send any data to us or to anyone else. Labels, settings and the activity log are stored only in your own WordPress database. For the content on your site, you are the controller and we have no access to it.
AuthorLabel Pro contacts our licensing service to activate and check your license key. It sends the license key, the site address (URL), the WordPress and plugin version, and the date of the check. We use this only to deliver updates and support, and to prevent license misuse.
On the 25-site and 100-site plans, Pro can also send a daily readiness summary to your agency dashboard: the readiness score and the number of open issues per site. It never sends post content, media, visitor data or the activity log. This summary is clearly disclosed in the plugin and can be switched off at any time in its settings.
3. Data we process on this website
- Server logs. When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers process technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only for a short time and then deleted automatically.
- Contact form and email. If you write to us, we process your name (optional), email address, topic and message to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for questions about a purchase, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f)). The form sends your message to our mailbox by email; it is not stored in the website database. We keep correspondence for up to 2 years after the last message, unless it relates to a purchase.
- Purchases. Pro licenses are sold through Freemius, Inc., which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. Freemius processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country, plan and order details, but never your full card number. We use them to provide the license, updates and support, and to meet tax and accounting duties (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). Order records are kept for as long as the law requires, typically up to 10 years.
- Support forum. Questions on the WordPress.org support forum are handled by WordPress.org under its own privacy policy.
4. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across sites. Fonts and scripts are loaded from this site itself, not from Google or other third parties. Our security provider Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell people from bots, and WordPress sets technical cookies only if you log in to the site. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
5. Who receives data
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the site and the software, and only as far as needed:
- our hosting provider, which stores the website;
- Cloudflare, Inc., which protects and speeds up the website;
- Freemius, Inc., for sales, licensing and payments;
- our email provider, for messages you send us.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Some providers, such as Cloudflare and Freemius, may process data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. In such cases the transfer is based on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law;
- restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw any consent you gave, at any time.
To use these rights, write to [email protected]. We will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
8. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No method of transfer or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
9. Children
This website and the software are meant for website owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page.
